What's Iguidance got better than Routis?
I have Routis 1.1 and, except for the ability to make the street fonts larger (I've read the OTHER thread), I'd like to know what more Iguidance 2 would offer me.
I've also looked at MapMonkey with Destinator3 maps and I don't see what's so great about it. Sure the background shows water and parks etc, but it's VERY unreadable. The streets are drawn in white with black outlines which just looks blurry on a 7" screen and the street names appear only horizontal or vertical. Many if not most of the streets where I go are on some diagonal and it's difficult to tell what the label's on.

If you have Routis, I personally would not make the upgrade just yet. I would wait for 2.1 to come out which I last heard from iNav should come out this quarter. I hope this has not been pushed back.
I think the biggest gain by far is the increased POI database and some of the map data has been updated. I personally have not noticed the map data updates, but thats because of my location.
Thats really it. Though, I must warn you that the 3d Mode in iGuidance was tweaked around, and a downgrade that has not yet been fully addressed yet.

Another plus for iGuidance is the fact that they seem to be still updating it. The Routis people were left high and dry for updates by a company that kept swearing they would come out with an update. Then quietly slipped off the radar screen. So, if you have Routis (like I do) you'll be stuck and eventually obsolete. I would love to see someone make Routis able to take iGuidance updates.
Otherwise, I'll eventually have to bite the bullet.

I upgraded from Routis 1.1 to Iguidance 2.0
Heres what I noticed:
1) Different Icons
2) Map shows water, airports, and parks
3) Better POI database
4) you can see streets when zoomed out to 2500ft. (routis would hide streets at 2500ft zoom level)
5) makes a ding noise when its time to make a turn

IG 2.0 looks a lot like Routis and I am starting to think it has its perks over Routis. I would like to give IG a try before I buy. I have Routis 2004 if someone wants to swap to compare. Has anyone else tried both of them and what do you think? Will the Delou USB GPS unit work with IG 2.0? I am assuming it will.

They are basically the same program with iGuidance 2 being the newest with a few more features (features that should have been in Routis 2005, if it was ever release). Yes, your Deluo GPS will work with iGuidance.

What works better in frontends? I will be using Frodoplayer and it seems that IG is the choice. Any thoughts here?

All the buttons and controls are identical, you can make them more touchscreen friendly using a resource hacker.
