Topgraphic data
Has anyone seen GPS software that overlays the street our current programs use atop rendered topographic data? It seems like this is the next natural progression for navigation software if it hasn't been done yet, and would be very helpful in correlating things onscreen with things outside the car.

Try USAphotomaps. You can track your gps position on downloaded satellite photos.

Very cool, but I've seen stuff like that before. I'd like to have a 3d view of topgraphic data w/ street data overlaid, not an overhead photograph.

Not bad! Much closer to what I want. The perfect match would be something like iGuidance or Routis with contour data, but this is definately cool.

Even better, but still not quite there. That was mostly top down.

I use Topo 4 & Topo 5. I believe that Topo 5 has photo overlays in addition to software rendered.
here's some screenshots

Gimme the street detail from the right screen on the 3-view from the left, and we're there.
