Ok tried it out today. I unplugged the USB plug for the touch screen. Same effect. So it's definitely something conflicting between the screen and the GPS. Interestingly the further I put the GPS from the screen the better it seems to get signal. Argggg

Well, that in fact confirms that in your case, it is the screen and not something else. Physical seperation is one way to resolve the problem though sufficient seperation may not be possible in your car. Did/Can you try changing the refresh rate on your screen. I have heard that sometimes clears the problem. Also, what screen are you using. Is it molded into the dash, or still in it's case?

Its an external Xenarc 7" touch screen in it's orignal case. I have the wires for the GPS running up through the dash with those then it comes out a hole on the dash. I moved the reciever as far away as possible and we'll see how that works.

Just to update you guys. My buddy with a frontier has the same problem with hit LT20 Earthmate and he Xenarc 7" touch screen. He can't keep it on the dash at all. Lucky for him it goes nicely in the back window. I moved my all the way to the extremely far left A Pillar and it's working for now. May get an external antenna though.

I have the plain earthmate too. I am going to be looking for 3rd party GPS recievers that I can put on the roof out of a door or trunk.
