Email sent

An SDK would be very nice. I have just ordered IGuidance and plan on testing it out next week.

I will call them and see if I can convince anyone that there's a business case to do this. You have to respond to cusomter feedback, if enough of us e-mail and call they will have to address it one day.

Email sent as well.

Copy of email

I sent this to sales. Some times people get more responsive when you talk money.

My name is David Hay I am the CEO of 12Vsystems.com. We are in the process of evaluating GPS systems to offer to our existing clients and in new products. After test what feels like 100’s of packaged we have narrowed our choices down to IGuidance and Destinator 3.

All of us that were involved in testing feel that your software offers superior routing capabilities over Destinator. IGSkinner a freeware add-on to your software makes the interface easy to customize for touch screens. The only disadvantage your software had was no available SDK. Being able to talk directly to Destinator is a huge advantage for us. Will there ever be an SDK available for IGuidance, what would it take for you develop one for us?

Thank you
David Hay

Same canned response.

Hi David:
Unfortunately, SDK product development has been put on hold due to resource issue. Our developers currently are overwhelmed w/ all the OEM contracts coming from major PC manufacturers and thus have decided to put SDK develpment on permanent hold.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Yeh. I guess they got the memo to reply everyone with that email who mentions an SDK

Now, has anyone figured how to get the tomtom sdk to work with x86?

Marvin Hlavac will become famous soon enough
;-) Don't give up. Be persistent. Btw, contact Netropa ( http://www.intellinav.com/ ), too. Not just iNav.

Netropa ( http://www.intellinav.com/ ) is the software developer of the product. Others bundle the software with their own hardware, e.g. HP, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, NEC, etc. After Routis is out of the game, iNav is now the only one licensed to sell the software without it being bundled with hardware.

See if you get the same response...

At work I'm doing a project for GPS navigation and tracking for a device running Windows CE. Because of this I've been investigating different navigation programs and SDKs for them. I talked with Netropa and they told me that they'll start a SDK mid 2006. Thought you guys would like to know it is coming.
