They sent me some screen shots via email in addition to the one on their website, nothing showing tha actual map interface however.

I'm reserving my opinion until I see something worth looking at or a demo version.

Also: - re-routing when you get lost why is this only in the Pro version?!?!?!?! Surely amateur drivers get lost more than Pro drivers

Is this software any good in the US? It seems to get the best reviews overall, and have adequate customer support. Any US guys using this?

Thumbs up ??????????????

Just so you know, rerouting is available on the standard version under tools/routing. The importing of POI's is only allowed in the pro version unless someone out there knows how to "break" the dll stopping it. Its not bad on my 7" Lin ITX but it could be better. Haven't received the email from them about 4.3 but I'm running the new version of 4 with the update and it reroutes in seconds, tracks your location and can give you an emergency location cordinates fix for breakdown recovery.
Try it out it's a hell of a lot cheaper than Destinator and doesn't look too bad when running embedded in Roadrunner.

Is it equal to what you get in a BMW or other car. Doesn't look like it to me. I wasted a lot of time and effort trying to make a Car PC interface for the old pro version and then found it was missing important features. I've also sent emails asking a lot of technical questions about the new version and they have been about as helpful as er, Destinator people are.

chance to upgrade Navigator 4.3

I have the chance to upgrade to InfoMap Navigator 4.3 Plus Europe - DVD £57.50. I have been using map monkeys version of destinator for a while now and am quite happy with it. I bought navigator along time ago and used it on my laptop in the car but when my carpc came along it was no good on 7 inch touch screen.

What is it like now as they say it can be used on small screens, also it can now import directly from xls, dbf and access files for things like speed cams but where or how do you get speed cam dat in this format

The CarPC interface for Navigator 4.3 is a relatively simple front end allowing the selection of a destination. Once you've chosen one it then drops back into the standard navigation mode. It's better, but not as good as we'd been hoping for.
Is it worth it? Yes, even if it's just for the POI import and scout features. They really do deliver a lot for very little money.

The best tool I've come across for POI (Including speed cameras) is POIEdit. It allows you to sync your database with the ones maintained on a whole raft of other databases. You can then update your Navigator db with the latest changes.

North American (US and Canada, maybe a bit of Mexico) maps will be included in the next version.

Re-routing is indeed available in all version.

The naviagtion mode is the same in the standard interface, but if you click the Stop Navigation button it returns to the CarPC interface.

There will hopefully be a patch this weekend with a few bugfixes (including selecting multiple layers in Scout).

Does anyone have any screen shots of it working integrated into one of the common front ends, such as Centrafuse, Road Runner etc?
