I think you can disable the auto restore so it doesn't restore the files, but don't ask me how!

Several boots and still no jumping mouse. My guess is that because of the change in the PC configuration, windows must have reset the registry when I took it out of the car. After I applied the registry fix again, it looks like it is permanently fixed. I just have to remember to do it every time I take the computer out of the car.

there should be no blank between Servic and es!!!!

So did you just put a space in the name "services" or did you change the value to 4?

I have found that the registry 'fix' gets 'unfixed' under certain occasions. I have now exported the reg key to my desktop. Next time it happens, solution is a click away

you have to use the registry editor (regedit) to change it in the registry.

I you have to ask where to put it. I would suggest you don't do it as you have no idea of registry editing and if you start messing with the registry without knowing what you are doing you can really mess up yuor OS install.

I believe the full fix for this guys is to go to your C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
and delete or rename your sermouse.sys file that's where it recovers the files from if it sees an issue, if it doesn't have that file in order to recover, it wont, then delete or rename the one in system32, i haven't had an issue since, but had the issue with doing the regedit fix, after a few boots it came up as a sermouse again, so the file thing worked great so far

Read up on registry editing, especially the bit about backing up the registry before you do anything.

Use regedit, find the location above, have a good long look at it to make sure it is correct. Make no changes

Back up the registry

do that two or three times and then when you are confident or feel lucky make the change.

GPS goes grazy (floating)

just for those who don't want to hack there registry, the floating mouse problem
can be solved with a plug and play blocker, it can be downloaded here

http://www.stentec.com/software/pnpblocker.html

it blocks the detection of the gps as a mouse.

tried the reg edit method, but I have no 'start' to midify.

cant we just have a reg.inf to download or something this problem is driving me mad, and I buried all the cables, so if I unplug the usb end the mouse disapeers in device manager before I geta chance to disable it.

deleting the sermouse wont work SFC restores the damn thing.

its a joke this MS fsckup, it should be able to see its gps data etc

[g8tk33per mode = on] **** you, you retard, read the thread again properly, and try to talk properly. You have to add the "Start"=dword:00000004" to the registry key, not modify it.[/g8tk33per mode]

Once you have created just export the key and put the reg file on your desktop for future use.
