Ok..moved the monitor off the psu. Still have the problem. moved the gps the front and eliminated the 10ft. usb extension. IT WORKS!! But i've tried this before and it didn't work. 4 out of 8 not bad. Ok. put it back on the extension. IT WORKS! hmm..dropped out again. open the passenger side door ( where the wire is ran ) IT WORKS. I think the extension is bad. Will swap it out tomorrow.

try a powered USB hub and see if that makes any differences . I'd try that but I don't have one to test with it.

well i use a rikaline 6010 and always had 7+ locks without any problems and it linked with the satellite in less than a minute, BUT the last 2 days for some reason it is generally staying at 3-4 staellites, even going down to 0-2...very very annoying.
Only thing i changed is that i hooked the navone n66-a to the opus...if i keep getting less satellite locks then i am going to remove the n66-a and see how it works...but i really had that startup pop also!!!

Navone N66A is a turn-on delay. Most people use it to delay the amplifiers from turning on until after the PC is already booted so they don't get that startup THUD like you heard on my system.
I just got the Navone and integrated it into the wiring, but have to adjust the delay timing..

Yeh, once I take everything out again so I can get to the N66 to adjust the pot for the timer...

yeah thats what the n66-a is, and if you get it wired up and works for you PM me and let me know!!! I had mine wired up using the turn-on wire coming out of the fuse box initially but the delay only worked if I would start the car, it wouldnt work if i just put the key to "acc" or "on" position and it would "thud." So, instead i wired it to the opus 12v and ground molex and it works perfect upon starting the car but now it makes the same "thud" when shutting down...still havent figured out how to fix that.
and btw the satellite locks dropping in my setup wasnt due to the n66-a, it was because of the Winfast tv 2000xp deluxe PCI card i was using, pulled it out and just went on a trip (~300 miles) had 7 satellite locks most of the time, so back to normal.

dk, dk dk... how many times do i have to tell you? Get the opus already. i'm definitly saying power issue. also if you have the chance, uninstall the drivers, plug it in another usb, and try reinstalling. Now... hat hapened to the setup i was supposed to "set-up"?

opus = possibly my best purchase
just my opinion, although pricey i think the OPUS was one of my BEST investments in this project (hell if i can justify spending more than $400 on a 7" screen $150 on a powersupply isnt so bad)...I have had ZERO problems what so ever!!!
Connected to my 150W Opus:
Mini-ATX Motherboard
AMD XP2200+
20GB laptop drive
120GB desktop drive
Xenarc 700TSV
Navone n-66a (startup delay circuit)
USB GPS
Wireless keyboard and mouse
PCI Winfast TV2000XP Deluxe (FM & TV Card)
I think thats it for now, future additions:
DVD-ROM & 4-port powered hub and that will be the end of it...i think
BUT it all boils down to your budget, if there is one area you need to stretch it, it is on the opus IMO.
