Losing Sirf setting

Help!
I have a Pharos 360 GPS on USB; by default it works in NMEA, so I used SirfDemo to switch on sirf protocol. Everything works fine, except when I leave my car turned off for a couple of days... In that case, probably the inner memory of the GPS goes out of battery and lost even the "sirf" setting. So, when I turn it on again it is set for NMEA and of course MM doesn't find it.

Is there any solution?

Thanks in advance!!!
