Garmin Gps18

Ok well I did a but didnt find exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to know if any of you use the GARMIN GPS18 and what you think of it. I found a place selling them brand new with the software on ebay for like $122 with shipping. Is that a good price or could I find it other places cheaper?

Thanks!

I'd rather have the Garmin 480.

If you intend to use navigation software by a software developer other than Garmin, make sure the receiver you buy is compatible. Some Garmin-made GPS receivers only output Garmin protocol and are not compatible with NMEA standard. Buying a receiver like that could for example prevent you from using it with software like iGuidance. I think there is one version of Garmin Gps18 that is not NMEA compatible and one version of Garmin Gps18 that is NMEA compatible. But you may want to double check this.

yea man, i use the garmin 18, pc version. As long as you don't by the USB version you're cool. it works well, I consistantly get 9-10 satellites...I got it for $90 when it first came out, but looks like you can get it for $75. Do a froogle search. By the way, if you cut off the cigarette plug on the pc version, you need to supply it 5v not 12v, I learned that the hard way...
