Weird. For some reason I cannot access the GPS Passion site from work (military net in Iraq) but can get on it through our civilian satellite network (ISP in Italy). There's some good stuff over there and I can tell you been busy with iG, Marvin.

I think that is would be a good thing to do, however, like you stated some stuff doesn't work in some versions. The best thing to do would make a FAQ for each version. Simply copying and pasting the stuff that does work in each FAQ would work. You've got a 2.0 test subject if you wanna give it a go?

I agree, assuming someone would like to put the time forth. IMO members of this forum would benefit greatly from this recommendation.

I've already started a version for 2.0. Basically, I'm taking all the customization information from GPS Passion forum and gonna try it out one by one. I should be getting v.2.1 here in the future so I may be able to do that one too (but that is not a definite). I've got nothing but time on my hands. Just take a look at my sig.

I know, huh. One could only hope. That's the main reason why I'm still running on 2.0. I don't really see any sense in purchasing the newest version just to have two or three more versions come out before I get home (even with the upgrade deals).
Derek
PS. Gonna sign off now and go work on messing with the theme.ini. I grabbed all 5 pages from GPS Passion complete with pics...

Marvin > Got two things for ya. First, is I now have a recorded demo of the same thing going on. I've been running iGuidance in Demo Mode driving from point A to point B to test the sound files that I have modified. Anyway, one of the destinations that I told the simulation to do required the "driver" to exit the highway and take the turn-around (U-turn) under the bridge and re-enter the highway. As the driver is coming down the offramp and getting ready to enter the U-turn, the position icon snaps back up to the highway.
iG reroutes and tells the driver to do the same at the next exit. Several exits later and now two towns away, the driver finally makes the turn. This time it was not a U-turn but a regular turn at a stop-light.
EDIT: I just watched the log file and it shows no attempt to take the exits but yet the when I recorded it, the driver had taken the off-ramp...
I also saw a user over at GPS Passion that has noted the same thing. I'll post this over there tomorrow (am at work right now).

Second, justintime posted that its possible to 'eliminate the blue title bar from menu windows'. However, step 3 kinda confused me: On the bottom left, there is a list. Some items will be highlighted in yellow. Find WS_DLGFRAME and highlight it. Thing is, I can't find a single instance of WS_DLGFRAME. I've tried adding that code in various spots in a dialog and when I compile the script, ResHack removes the code.
But I did find another way to do it. On the second line of a dialog is the code WS_CAPTION. If you remove that for each dialog, no caption bar will be shown. I did this to all my dialogs with the exception of the About iGuidance (Dialog 1000) because it needs the dialog in order to close the menu. I'm running on v.2.0. Could justintime have been running a different version or hacker program?
Derek
This is an example of my menus. It is not a Photoshop hack.

Is your Demo using GPS Gate.
I have tried and tried to get the thing to simulate a GPS, but I think my decimal coordinates are off. I found some Coordinates on the USGS site for 2 airports in my area. I then found a site that converted "regular" coordinates to decimal. Put them in, and ran the simulation, but IG just tells me, OFF MAP. What corrdinates are you using. I don't care where they are, as long as I can track something, and test out IG2.1 with out being in the car and moving.

Can you post before and after. I fail to notice a change.

@ Derek:
1. It must be some issue with either the built-in demo mode or as Michael suggests above. I wouldn't be too concerned if I see something silly like that in Demo mode. But if you or anyone else have some routing related issues, there is now a thread on this topic going on at iGuidance forum. We are hoping iGuidance programmers will take the issue seriously. Here is the link: > click me <
2. That looks good! No matter how you achieved it, the main thing is that it works! I think Justintime used 2.0 (at least it looks like 2.0 to me). This one "trick" i never bothered trying because in my setup I use a 15" LCD monitor so space is not such big issue.
@ Michael: The difference is the missing title bar on top of the window ;-)

Attached is a screenshot of the original menu as requested. You asked about GPS Gate and was it running during the time of the recording. Yes, it was running but it was not in simulation mode. It was in COM mode which (at the moment) does nothing more than make iG think something is connected to the COM port. No data was being received to iG.
I dunno. I've seen some stupid stuff with the Demo Mode in iG. Primarily, the "driver" just will not listen to the guidance. I ran a simulation to do a trip that I do a lot from Texas to Louisiana. The driver pretty much ignored the entire route that iG plotted. (I don't blame him. iG plotted a route that was gonna take 11 hours to complete. I drive it in about 4-4.5 hours...) It would have been a good test of the Recalc setting (which I'm assuming the link goes to but I can't check it right now because I'm at work). That Recalc setting would be very beneficial. Too bad it doesn't work for 2.0 (I tried).

Michael, no, the above link is to a fairly new thread discussing imperfections of routing (not the re-routing issue). There already are a lot of sample pictures to document some problems. IGuidance generates very good routes, but we would like the programmers to do better than that. I hope more user input may make a difference...
Btw, it is interesting that at work you cannot reach the site. But I would imagine it would likely be the same with many many other sites as well (?).

Okay. Now I remember that thread. You posted a couple of screenshots where your route took you way out of the way when all's you had to do was drive straight down the road...
The DNS from work knows where to go but somewhere along the way, I'm not making it to the next link. At "home" we have civilian internet and our ISP is located in Italy.
