$hit, now I want to know how GPS integration come in.
If it work like normal GPS software (Routis/iGuidance, ...) without realtime internet connection, that will be a blow. Obviously you need to connect to the net to download new map/images or getting map from different area you going to. If all map data is store in local HD, that will take couple G of space.

I think eventually we will have google gps option, whether it comes from them or another separate programmer. The biggest thing, apart from integration and it really being reworked to be primarily a gps software, is that the info is probably not stored together the way it would have to be for people to use it in car. Some people have internet access to use it via streaming info, but not most. They would need to package all the information from say California into one CD, each state or region having their own. This isn't, i odn't think, how their terabytes of info are stored and organized.

Doesn't this say that it is can be used for GPS intergration?
Why buy plus?
In addition to the basic features, Google Earth Plus includes:
GPS integration – read tracks and waypoints from your GPS.
Higher resolution printing (greater than screen resolution).
Customer support via email (not just web).
Annotation – adds draw/sketch tools for richer annotations (can be shared as KML).
Data importer – read address points from .csv files.

I was reading something in the last nuts and volts mag I got, said that as of right now google has more combined computing power than any supercomputer in the world
Edit:
Yeah here it is
Quote:
The google supercomputer is comprised of over 700 server racks, 63,000 computers, 126,000 processors, 253,000Ghz of processing power, 126,000 gigabytes of RAM, and more than 5,000 terabytes of hard drive space
According to this estimate, the google server farm constitues the most powerful supercomputer in the world, performing at least three times as many calculations per second as the Earth Simulator, and about 50 percent more calculations per second than IBM's BlueGene/L Beta.
