the mem addr of the turn arrows is 4B044C:7F5 so basically we can remove those images with reshacker and then have a stand alone program possibly display them for use in RR etc like on the menu page kinda like map monkey does currently

So, anyone feel like continuing this project?

In due time...

Unrelated question: Is the menu layout in IG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.1.1 the same? Like the main menu and the POI menu?

i think the best idea would be for me to make a DLL that reads from an INI file. This way you can set variables to specific memory addresses, making it easier to make this thing cross platform. Once the dll is done, all of the different projects can use it, and it can be used for programs other then iguidance as well

very much agreed at the idea of a dll
i have a program called Cheat O Matic by (C)1997 - Nick Shaffner it is a dumbed down version of tsearch and the other memory sniffers
if you were to bundle the program with that ppl could sniff out thier own mem addresses if the defualt inis for 2k and xp (assuming) didnt work

ok, i'm going insane here. The app still works in my car fine. However it no longer works on my desktop machine. The memory address changed!!!, i didnt change anything, except for changing some comports....... ugh. I'll have to write an app to track down the memory values, all the ones i find suck.

heres a suggestion
for calibrating everyones system someone should make a gps emulation stream for the sole purpose of finding the mem values
each of the known values we can enter into a stream and write a script to search those specific values. that way finding the values will be easy on all machines
it also makes it easy to recalibrate after system changes like the one you had apparently

Do you have a GPS receiver connected to the desktop?

even more interesting, all of my variables dropped by 4, I must have removed 4 characters from something somewhere. This is quite interesting that it worked in my car, and did work here, but now its changed.

Any ideas?

this posses an huge issue in that the variable could be different for everyone, so for anyone to get it to work, they will manually have to find the variable. I will see if i can find some way to have my program figure out where it is on it's own.
