Google Maps GPS: is anyone working with them?

I know that independent programmers are beginning to work with Google now that they are giving away their server and map information (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8420469/), is anyone here? If so, what is the progress and ideas right now? I'm hoping to learn anything about this (google earth, other programs, etc) so this can be a general thread about new GPS using google mapping.

I do like the idea of showing traffic information: http://www.dynamite.co.uk/local/ using Googles smooth mapping technology.
Does anyone know where the raw uk traffic co-ords come from?

For anyone interested.

Documentation is here:

I think he was working with frodo. So hopefully it'll make an appearance in fp:

Maybe they will in the future. Right now, I think they're just showing us what they can do.

@Zenith - watch this space, there is some work in progress at present for UK Traffic and other info for in the car, there are three of us at present currently working on this and we are hoping to integrate it heavily with Freedrive to allow native traffic within it.

How about putting adds in a free piece of software but take the adds out if the software is registered and paid for.

I can just imagine driving by a Burger King and having an add play on the GPS software

If that is the case, when you drive in the city, all you see in the map is advertise instead of the map you are on. Unless, you are in the middle of NO WHERE.
