Adding the HOME favourite was what took its time..
Now I'm looking paning if that is possible, really hope so...............

I probably know the answer to this already but does FreeDrive use a different routing algorithim to Map Monkey? I just have no confidence in MM. I have Tom Tom Mobile 5 on my phone and its like another world compared to MM! I WANT SOMETHING DECENT!! (Sorry just had one bad journey with MM too much)

Do you have the latest maps and have it on quickest route ??

The routing will be part of the Destinator app and I doubt that MM or Freedrive will work differently in that aspect...

Yep............2004 Maps and set to quickest route. It seems to want to go through tiny little streets instead of the motorway. I think I'll pull my carpc in doors this week and give it a "service " and maybe try some other maps? Just getting increasing frustrated with it.

Sure I read about CDRSKULL trying to alter the routing for FreeDrive. Didn't think that could be changed.

Thanks Mark

I think there has been talk about this before. I'm now on the latest map ( the one with the M6 Toll ) and never had a prob routing as such since.

That been said where I do have a prob its where the road is not shown ( like a bridge near me lol - got both sides... just not the bridge its self. )

That been said - I have never followed my GPS religsly ( sorry 3 attemps cant be bothered to try again on that one ) and if I know the motorway is better ( and 9 times out of 10 I do ) or any other road for that matter I follow it - it re routes any way. In other wors just aim the nose roughly in the right direction and I get there just the same.

Best way to describe it is the way councils put up signs to 'this way to x' when you know locally thats not the case... its simply a traffic flow thing. ( And yes I know GPS is not sposed to follow that but can you see what data is attached to the map ?

Terran

You can also use Copilot live with the european expansion pack.

I ahve copliot on my PDA (does that count as a carputer??) and am quite happy with it (although I have no comparison to other products)

Just thought I'd mention there is iGuidance Europe 2.1.2. It ships with maps of western europe. Not the most T/S friendly out of the box but there are some add on programs for it such as iGMon, which really answer most shortcomings.

Can't beat digging out a good old thread and having a long sniff...

Im in the same boat really, followed this and other threads trying to find a decent gps solution to driving in the uk. I want something that doesnt look homemade, Ive seen so many differnet gps solutions (ie BMW / Panasonic installs) and they look so much more polished than the current pc options.

One option not covered here so far has been Navigon Mobilnavigator (http://www.navigon.com/site/uk/en) but I would also like the satnav software to have a speed camera database on it (not too much to ask as for less than £200 in halfords you can get something that would meet these requirements!)

Anyone know of any other software not listed yet?

Garonav

...probably I've found it!
I'm converting myself to GaroNav...
here is the forum link:
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...hlight=garonav
and here is the site link where you can download the software:
http://www.riccardogarofano.com/

it is base on D3 as MM but has a better interface, touchscreen friendly, better address entering and there is also english language...

Garo, I'm advertising your product... I think I'm going to be paid for...

I noticed this after i posted my previous, only thing is its back to the damn destinator maps, but definatly the best looking of the destinator products. Does it require the stuipid SDK? Or just the destinator maps?
