Cheap GPS Receiver in Australia
Just went out and got myself a Fortuna GPSmart handheld receiver from my local Supercheap Auto store for only $149.
Seems to have everything you could want, been playing with it today and its nice. Supercheap also had the USB cable for it ($50 bucks) and so far its talking to everything (it outputs NMEA to the com port) I have thrown its way (well just netstumbler and its ****ty demo software).
Should also work fine under Linux for anyone interested. Its USB-Serial cable is supported in the 2.6.x kernels.
So anyone in OZ (well QLD, i think Supercheap is only QLD atm) looking for a cheap gps unit, I think this is the go. Going to go for a drive with the lappy soonish, so ill get back to you all.
