Importing poi database

I read in my CoPilot manual that I could expand my poi database by importing an excel spreadsheet full of locations. After doing some research, I found http://www.datadynamica.com/YPSG/ which will create this database by extracting all yellow pages entries. Unfortunetly, the program costs $300. Has anyone found a way to do this without the cost?

Hmm, I don't have the programming background to build one of those. What about readily available databases? It doesn't HAVE to be from yellowpages, I just want to improve my POI database.

Companies who have this data do not give it away free. There is not copyright restrictions on factual data protecting it or anything, but if the internet were to ever make this data easily available for anyone then they would lose business.

The only things I know of are individual data sources for things like restaurants
