Yes this is correct. Either the keyboard or mouse port can be used for powering the GPS. Only serial is used for data.

BU-353 connects only to USB. I have one. Also - I have no problems with hibernation, I just used an external powered hub for my usb devices

Yes, if you order the USB version it plugs into USB for power and data. That's what I have.

BR-355 female ps/2 ?

Hi !

I bought on ebay a gps receiver that was advertised as Globalsat BR-355 ps/2.
After unpacking I realised that it has female ps/2 connector.
if you look here :http://www.usglobalsat.com/item.asp?itemid=61&catid=
It says that the connector should be male and not female.

I ordered Y cable for BR-355 which has again female ps/2 connector (this time it is correct).

I am stuck, is there any way to prove that the pinout, despite the male/female change, is the same ? So, can I use one to one male/male adapter ?

The only thing that comes to my mind is to assume that the female connector corresponds 1:1 to the original male and try to wire it like this. I am afraid that I can damage the GPS unit if I connect power to some wrong pin.

Please,Please,Please, I will apreciate any help or hints.
