Holiday visit to Florida.
Hi Guys,
I have been using various nav programs to navigate across the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.
But now I’m going on holiday in Florida the end of next week.
What would you recommend for navigation software on my laptop?
I'm interested in of course navigation but also some good holiday poi would be nice.
At the moment I have streets and trip USA but that’s not really good for navigation.
If you a good suggestion please let me know.
Thanks
Gijsje

I live in Florida and use IGuidance 2.0. The POI are not great, but the navigation is accurate for the most part.

I use D3 with Map Monkey... I like it, but some my maps are old so some newer streets are not on the map, but that may not be the case if there are newer maps available

Hey Scoda,
I live in Orlando Florida and work right near the aiport (@ oracle) :-)
I use iguidance 2.1 and it is very good for the most part. Not 100%, but as close you you can get I suspect.
Most of the IG poi are pretty good...the restraunts and such and all the major atractions.
Hope you enjoy your visit! It's been REALLY, REALLY hot lately...bring sunscreen.

Yup I just move down there by the airport and using iGuidance 2.0 everything was pretty much as accurate as could be. Just moved down here and iGuidance saved me many hours of being lost.

Streets and Trips 2005 with the GPS track has nice POI's.
I've used Delorme Street Atlas in Florida and it works well and has good POI's.

My GPS receiver is a Rikaline 6010...I chose this model because it is supposedly waterproof...it has been sitting on my trunklid for ~3 months now in some good rain storms and it's still doing okay.

If you already has a receiver, get MS Street & Trips 2005.
It is the best for POI and routing (no run around). And the best option of all is super cheap: 15 bucks. Much better than a stack of paper to carry around.
The worst part is cumbersome to use on the road. You have to prepare your trip/destination in advance to use it effectively.
