GPS ANTENNA splitter

Does anyone know if a GPS signal can be split? I'm not talking about splitting the serial signal, I want to split the antenna signal. Why? I have an OEM sharkfin GPS antenna that is for Onstar. I want to use that antenna, but also want to keep Onstar intact (don't ask). So I want to split the antenna so it goes into the onstar box, and then also to a GPS receiver.

Is it assimple as using a splitter (like a TV signal splitter made for GPS)? Will it cut the signal in half or do some such crazy thing?
I couldn't find anything here, so this should be a valid thread. I'm off to search ask Google & I'll report back. No love from some other GPS retailers.

Looked like an old thread, but exactly the question I wanted to ask. I'm curious if anyone has had any luck, specifically with the GM oem OnStar gps antenna.

Why not just place a highly sensitive (-152dBm or better) bluetooth GPS receiver on the rear deck or somewhere else out of sight? With a SirfStarIII or MTK chipset GPS, you shouldn't have any trouble getting a decent signal from any window height location in the vehicle. With my MTK based i.Trek Z1, I can get a reliable GPS signal in my living room and I don't have any trouble keeping a GPS signal with my GPS sitting in the cup holder of my center console.
