Pioneer AVIC in Laguna

Hello everybody newbie here!

I am considering buying a Renault Laguna GT but I wanna keep my AVIC XR-1 (currently on my american-made Focus LX sedan).

Has anybody ever done something like this? I have been searching previous threads but it's still unclear to me if some display functions are lost by changing audio system and if the actual space available in the Laguna ICE dash compartment is enough for the 6.5" LCD.

Help appreciated!
