I just got a chance to look at mappoint. I see very little difference between it and Streets and Trips.

Can anyone tell me the advantages of mappoint over streets? Why do I see so much support for mappoint and not Streets in all of the carputer frontends?

They're basically the same. Minor differences with region stats support. The reason why its popular around here is that Mappoint has SDK support whereas S&T does not.
