Gps unit with video out?

Does such a thing exist?
I,ve got a flip out screen and a very low spec pc setup which isnt powerful enough for gps.
So a Gps unit with some sort of video out (svhs, rca etc) would be ideal.

Reason I'm asking is I don't have a lot of money and am doing the carpc thang in stages.

The money that you would spend on such a unit (if one exists) probably wouldnt be very cheap. Have you actually tried running gps software on your computer? My Routis 2004 uses maps with like 5-6 colors and only refreshes like once every second or two.

Most of the self contained units that do routing and directions cost as much as many of us spent of a full CarPC including a VGA screen.

Most of the GPS calculations are done inside the hardware of the GPS unit itself. For your PC, its mostly a display situation.

I agree with others that if such a unit existed, you'd be paying more for it than to upgrade your PC.
