Talking

Oh yeah ?

How about a real capture, with no malfunctions, taken while flying on a KLM Boeing 747, over Las Vegas at 621mph ?

I've done the same thing, on the way from NC to TX. It was using destinator... it was really neat to see the roads flying by so fast! and I only had 5-6 sats as well...

You had better check with the airline before using a GPS device inside of the airplane. If you are caught you could be in some serious trouble.

*if*

Any equipment thats /really/botherd by other equipment / cellphones is badly constructed and unshielded, not what you commonly find in planes.

Heart rate monitor, yup a cell phone sending a registration can affect them, but only for a second.

old cell phones threw out RF at much higher levels and could even cause headaches if used for extensive periods of time, I had a friend who used his motorola batman phone with a ups lead acid battery, and yeah he complained of headaches........

Why? It is just receiving signals already present around us.

I TOTALLY agree with you, but thats not how airline manufactuers see it.
Many airlines I have asked strictly prohibit GPS devices from being used
inside airplanes, yes they do not transmit so basicly there is no problem.

But that does not stop their policies.

Basiclly the thing I have found out is you need to ask the pilot, if he doesnt
have much technical knowledge on how GPS device work he will more than
likely say no.

Chris31 will become famous soon enough
There isnt really much reason for anyone to use GPS inside the plane apart from farting around with it.

True it probably wont do any harm but if you are told to put it away then put the damn thing away and dont act like a spoilt brat

They have their own policies and if you dont comply they can **** you up if they want to.
