BU-353 GPS antenna problem. won't detect?

i just received my bu-353 and it won't detect. it keeps saying no device found in every port. i installed the USB to serial software.

when i plug the antenna into my usb port... nothing even happens. the computer doesn't even recognize that anything has been plugged in. there are no lights or anything on the receiver. what's wrong with it?

that's a different issue. mine won't even detect in windows. there's no light. seems as though it's not powering up. is it a defect?

Or a USB problem.. you try going into device manager to troubleshoot it there?

i have this same problem, it WAS working, but then a few minutes later, BOOOM

no led, no detection, no nothing!!! in device manager it says its working properly!!!
