Local places to purchase GPS receiver

I'm going on a trip thursday and I need a to install my GPS receiver by then (I wanna impress the girls who are coming).. we are going to visit some friends at other colleges... What i want to know is where can i purchase a good gps receiver locally?? Checking the bestbuy site, they dont seem to have anything decent and circuit simple is lacking.. Anywhere else I'm overlooking, and what reciever should I go with??? Thanks all.

well garmin has been a trusted name with respect to GPS for years now, but I have no experience with that particular product.

Search for some reviews..

edit: you could always pick one up for now and return it once you get back from your road trip..

I live in NH, near you in boston, and ordered an OEM GPS mod from http://www.navtechgps.com/supply/gps15LH.asp it arrived two days after I ordered... but... your kinda running out of time if you choose online ordering..

garmin 18 is good, but you can find them $80-90 online so the walmart one is a little expensive. Also if you do get it, make sure you get the serial version, NOT the usb. usb version uses proprietary garmin format while serial is standard NMEA data.
