I have not noticed this at all while driving in LA, but while looking at places in mid/northern CA, I have noticed that the road overlay is about 10-20 feet off of the SAT picture. I'm sure Google will fix it eventually though.

I have a skin for GE + NMEAGE. Mainly for CF 1.5.
It embeds both apps and you can change zoom and tilt and some music playlist control.

download is on first post.

Nice! Have you considered using GooPs or Earth-Bridge instead? EB doesn't have hot-keys yet. GooPs uses the normal GE controls which do have hot-keys, but I haven't been able to get Sb to work right since GE requires a "press-and-hold" instead of just a "press". This is why I have been modifying the Send() command of SKINbedder to accomodate hold-time.

Hey, wait a minute... all it is is a SKINbedder SKIN with the .exe renamed to GEMod!!! WTF!

Ok, well, whatever .

PLEASE re-release it as a SKIN only in the SKINbedder\Skins sub-forum (no .exe's or SKINbedder.ini). TIA.

Edit: BTW, good job figuring out how to use my program . I am working on adding a lot of features to Sb (and getting rid of the alpha-blend bug) so that we can create a full-featured NAV interface for Google Earth. PM me if you want to work together on it.

We love skinbedder.

I never said i "created" the skin I just forgot to mention that it is a skinbedder skin. I suck at photoshop so I had to cut/ paste blue nite CF skin around a bit. Only reason holding me back from using the other programs is laziness. I just use whatever works at the moment.

Even if you didn't create the art, you still created the skin. My INI configuration is a real PITA.

Bump .

News: The right side of mercury7's skin is working properly with a new Skinbedder.exe version. I will try to post an update soon (once I get a little more of the left side working).

Edit: Sending SHIFT+LEFT (or any other arrow key) to another application is a huge PITA. That's why I had to change the exe. For more programming info see here.

Glad to hear you're making progress RPM. If you come up with any improvements I can make, be sure to let me know.

Well, eventually we need a lot more screens. There's the OSK png I need, maybe a list of 8 or so layers to toggle. For the OSK, you need to leave an area blank in the upper left where GE's edit-box is (when the left-bar is open). I'm not far enough along yet to start requesting every screen I eventually want though .

I have a weird issue in that this seems to lag behind hte actual position of the car. I just wanted to ask if others have this issue. When I use GPS in MS S&T it is right about on where I am at the time. When I use WW it is slightly behind, but google earth is like a block behind when I am only going 40mph. It also seems that update thing does nothing to ameliorate the problem. In fact it seems as though a refresh of 2 seconds is no better than 5. Is there a minimum time for updates or something?

Thanks

The problem you are running into, sxott, is that Google Earth has to use a network link as a pass-through for the data from GPS device. As a result, no matter what, you are going to get a lag between what the GPS device is reporting and what shows up in Google Earth.

Yeah, but a full block? EB/GE only lags behind my car about 1/8 of a block.
