rofl... at least your laughing i would be killing myself for that kinda bill. This program is just usefull for unlimited plans, I would never considered for a pay what you eat, considering these plans are like 50megs per month max (i bet you ate those 50 megs in less than a week). Here in mexico the unlimited edge costs around 90 bux a month, in US i think its around 60-70

Okay, this look REALLY cool! But if you're using nmeaGE for GE, do you still need to purchase GE Plus? Or is that what nmeaGE (in a sence) does?.. allows you to use your gps mouse with the free GE..?? anyone??

Works with either plus or the free version of GE.

With regards to building the GE cache, this is my game plan. Start logging my driving with an NMEA logger like GPSGate or something. Then play it back into nmeaGE/GE once I'm at home with broadband connection.
Would that work?

Well, there's an idea. Looking at the GPSGate website they state that it can simulate GPS coords. From the screenshot I see there it looks like you can enter multiple points, altitude, and set the speed it moves. I've never used the program but this may be the ticket or at least a highly viable option.

I got a "Failed to open serial port" error while trying to read from GPSGate's nmea logger. iGuidance and other GPS software worked fine with the logger. Weird.

I have to admit you guys are using many components that I'm completely unfamiliar with. In fact, I'm completely clueless when it comes to carputers. I stumbled onto this site after noticing all the downloading coming from this forum (a good thing), and I really like what you guys are doing to your rides. I wish I had a carputer!
Last night I was reading this (translated via babelfish), and it finally dawned on me that you guys probably don't have keyboards. Now I can relate to the shortcomings of nmeaGE when applied to in-dash touchscreens. Makes me think we need a version that is designed specifically for touchscreens, which is obviously very different from the traditional keyboard/mouse laptop GUI. Hummmm......
