? First... it's Google Earth not Google Heart!?!?!

Second, GE Pro does not come with any sat pictures... you can only get those from the Google Earth server or your HDD cache.

Third, there are many solutions to your problem within this forum... everything from ways to get cheap cellular internet in your car, to programs that create a 2GB Google Earth cache file from a defined area that you can just copy to your CarPC.

I know this is a bit of a strange question, but is there a way to turn off the aerial view in Google Earth so that you can only see the road layout?
GE does not have clear view of the area that I live in, but all the road names and layout are spot on - instead of having a blurry aerial view with roads laid on top I would just like to have the roads.

Is this possible?

Cheers,
Jon

No. ...but there is a utility that lets you download high-res views from TeraServer and overlay them in google earth. Search for it on these forums.

Does that include UK/Europe maps or is it just for the USA?

Use this program for tracking and it works great.
A utility FTPs is every x minutes to my seb server. People can click on the link, GE opens and others can see my location.
