software for laptop

maybe off topic, but i am thinking of getting a different software for my laptop, currently i have copilot

Microsoft
Earthmate
or stick with co-pilot

or there's better alternative?

it depends

Which software package is better depends on what you want to do with it... If you want powerful but complicated DeLorme Street Atlas is excellent (since you said you're using a laptop and presumably not trying to cram it onto a 7 inch screen.) If you want simple and effective, iGuidance works very well. If you're too cheap to buy anything else MS Streets & Trips is your choice...

can i have a actual screen shot of the different programs just to see how it looks like?

Streets and Trips 2006

here's a short flight plan I am going to do in the next week or two, here is a rough version of the flight plan (I am using the gps as a recorder, not as a map!)

edit: I can't seem to make the image show at it's real resolution... hmm o well, hope you can see enough of it with that small pic ^

another question is, are all USB GPS receivers compatible with most of the popular navigation softwares like copilot ?

If they have NEMA output, yes. Most GPS recieveres produce NEMA output.
