IGuidance (Navigation) and Music Solution!

I have done some searches but didn't come up with anything on this subject. If anyone has a search criteria that will help me locate something let me know and I'll do more searches.

I currently have an Alpine Navigation system in my SUV and I love it. The feature that I love and want in my new car pc is to have the ability to have the navigation system on while listening to music at the same time. When the Nav prompts you it should mute the music so you can hear the voice. Lastly, I would like to just have the navigation work in the background while I have the music screen up and have it only prompt me and pop up when a turn is coming. Is there anyway to do this with IGuidance or any navigation software altogether?

Recap.

1. I want the ability to listen to Music while the navigation software does its thing
2. Mute the music when the Nav prompts you
3. Be able to have Nav work in the background and only show up when it's prompting you for your next turn.

Again these are features I have in my Alpine navigation system but not sure if this can be incorporated into a carpc solution.

Thanks for any feedback or direction.

Thanks

Hehe.. Sry

Well I use iguidance together with iguidance.
I can clearly hear the "voice-routes" from iguidance, when playing music in roadrunner!

But it aint pausing the music and then resuming it afterwords, as you request is.

What I was hoping was that it would MUTE the music or lower the volume so you could here the voice-routes when the music was loud. How loaud are you playing your music while the Nav is on?

You could make a program to monitor the iG sound directory, and pause when a file is acessed.

using Centrafuses pre-amp feature you can lower the "line level" of the sound coming from your PC, then IG prompts will always be louder .. if you use the Destinator GPS, (included with Centrafuse) it automaticly mutes and fades back in on voice promts .

but I like the idea of monitoring the IG sound directory. does it cache those files though? ..

could someone write a program to do this for IG and RR? Is this something that's hard to do? I'm not a programmer.

I'm pretty sure that someone could write that program.
