Xport 3 problems
OK wel i am trying to set up Xport3 with my GPS. I downloaded Xport 3 and the Compass. My GPS port prior to using Xport is Com9. I am trying to split the port into to.
This is what my xport screen looks like:
Now whenever i try to connect to comports 8 or 10 in iguidance nothing happens. And the compass, i set it to com 8, 10 and 9 but i get no data. Before i splitted the com ports the compas was reading data on com9
How do i fix this?

Check Curiosity's Xport threads. I remember reading that there's a problem with IGuidance when the com port has double digits. Since one of your ports is 10 that may well be the problem.

I've struggled with configuration of RR/IG/Xport myself, though I do have everything finally running properly. I don't know enough about it to help other than to mention that I do recall there being a problem with using double-digit com ports.

Open hyper terminal and connect to the GPS COM port to see if you have data coming thru.
If there is data coming thru, on the bottom of Xport windows, you will see the same type of data.
BTW, just make sure that the GSP COM port works before you said it xport problem (it may have other problem but not this problem).

Form the screenshot it looks like something is connected to COM9 so XPort can't access it. You will see a little green dot next to the input port like COM10 shows and see NMEA data at the bottom of the window when it's correctly connected to your GPS.

I'm having problems with XPORT and standby/hibernation. The program works great for the most part; reconnects to the port, etc..; cept it crashes on resume like 95% of the time. I know it's meant for USB comports, but I'm using it on a bluetooth dongle with widcomm 1.4.2. I just don't understand why it crashes on resume. So any help to fix or to go about diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and excellent program btw.
ps. I'm running RR, iGuidance, DLink BT w/widcomm 1.4.2

NOTHING to do with this thread. Dont thread-jack. ANd if port 9 is the correct port and there's data was coming from the gps you'd see a green dot by com9 and the NMEA data streaming at the bottom of the box. You need to test your gps without xport. Once ur sure its working properly then add xport back in.

Well, the thread title is "Xport 3 problems" so I thought I'd report the problem in here also. Anyhow, my apologies...

Well, that's exactly OT. I don't know what would be wrong with it though. Bluetooth should work, but XPort probably gets impatient with it since it takes a few seconds to connect. Do you know how long it usually takes? Like 5 or 10 seconds? And as far as crashing, can you give me an error code or anything?
