I'm in the process of ordering one myself now. But I do need help setting this thing up. They do have a few demo kits but they are very expensive.

Could be a typo but the email I got after complaining on the price for the DR1030, he was charging 3500 NOK (522$) and he gave me the option of buying just the A1030A for 400 NOK (60$). I'm expecting more info today, IT's still morning here... 7pm.. It could be that he gave me the price in Euro and wrote NOK... That would result in 3200 NOK (480$). But the uBlox is just 1600 NOK and that was the price he had to beat so 3200 NOK would be way off...

I even had to pay 25€ since the order was below 75€....

I have to pay 94$ plus VAT and shipping for one or 125$ plus VAT and shipping for 2.

I've been following up on the Tyco A1030 for a while now. Emailed Tyco to see what the sample pricing is for the A1030-A module.

I am just finishing a more compact design on Protel. I will have to wait for the New Year to get it manufactured, as it is double-sided.

Will post some screenies for you guys, let me know if you're interested.

Kind regards,
MrBean

Just confirmed that it's $59 for a single unit from a supplier that carries the A1029B.

Hello Guys,
I have just created a new revision of my pcb, first was double-sided, but cost would be prohibitive for a lot of us, so I re-routed some paths, and changed the layout.

Now, using 1 link only, I managed to make it single-sided, and exactly the same size as the uBlox receiver board. This means that Gyro et al fits underneath the receiver board, and that you would have to use longer pins on 20-pin header, but it is much more compact like this - see attached screenshot.

The guys who have made this before, please check through my circuit to see if all is kosher, I will make this board early in the new year, once it is tested I can post the Gerber files for those who wants pro boards made.

Kind regards,
MrBean.

Looks good! Did you pick up the ENV-05 from U-blox or from another distributor? I am trying to source it down for less than U-blox wants. Incase I can't find it, I'll use the Analog Devices gyro for my soon-to-be Tyco DR setup.

I still need to order the Gyro. It's Euro49 from the webshop, and Euro60- to ship it..they must tink I am crazy.

I need to get one from the USA, but they don't ship to Australia.

Don't know what I am going to do. I used the mechanical drawings of the Gyro to design the placement etc, so it is very accurate.

Anyway, I did work through the PCB, the design is spot-on based on my schematic, so if you want the Gerber files I will post them - alternatively, you can wait a short while and I will get the board made professionally with silkscreen etc.

Will keep you posted.

Br,
MrBean.

Lightbulb

I know this is reviving an old thread but I have confirmation for all those interested that the SBR-LS has been discontinuted and that there is no direct replacement at present. There will be some modules available from local suppliers, I have a supplier in AUS who has 10 in stock.
