Iguidance and DeLorme

I can't seem to get Iguidance to recognize the USB GPS receiver....I read the sticky for noobies but i don'tk now where to find drivers, I wasn't sure if anyone has had this exact problem....i'll also do some s

Have you verified that the GPS and PC are talking to each other? One solution: use a gps diagnostic software to verify that NMEA signals are coming in.

Try DeLorme website, the download section. Look up your GPS receiver model. There will likely be the proper driver available for download. It may be marked as "driver for 3rd party applications", or it may just say "NMEA".

also even though this is in the faq...you need to tell the delorme serial emulator that it needs to broadcast NMEA on one of the ports. It does not do this by default.

you need to download the serial emulator because delorme need that to work with 3rd party program.

I think you are missing the point... delorme makes a serial emulator for the usb earthmate that will report the gps info on 3 ports in up to 3 formats. the standard nmea, raw data, and delorme proprietary. Each port can pick from one of these types. That way you can use standard nmea and it will allow any GPS software that reads the standard settings to work with your receiver.
