My resolve is to be nicer to newbs.
I'm realizing that if they are allowed to find things out on their own, the shame of realizing the answer was there all the time strengthens them and they become valuable, productive members of this community.

Damn, I crack myself up sometimes!!!!
Now who is being soft? Your'e the one spoon-feeding them.

IMHO. People that are new around here do not need to be flamed all the time, especially by those that have only been here 8 months. WTF....show some respect.

Keen, sounds like you are referring to getting free internet through a cell phone. I've never tried it, but there are a couple threads in the forums here that will point you in the right direction.

Also, I think it only works with some certain cell phone service providers. Overall, I've read that it is a slow connection and hard to connect. Other than that, I have no clue. You will need some sort of cable to connect your phone to your computer, unless it can go through Bluetooth??? No clue. Good luck...

if you have sprint, you can get a cable for most pohones on eBay for $3 and then just use #777 for the dail up number (works with other carriers too) I never had a problem connecting, and it's about 134kbps so it's not that slow either. Most carriers will get ****ed at around 250MB transfer and cancel your account.

There is a thread on this forum about how to get free internet using cingular. Do a search using terms "cingular" and "internet". It should turn up.

You should also take some time to learn the difference between WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EVDO or Edge. Look them up on the Wikipedia to get started.

keen70, you need to ask these questions in a different forum. There are a few people who may know the answers, but there are other forums that are more focused on cellphones, providers, and how to access services that are more likely to get you the answers you need.
