Google + Volkswagon GPS

I'm sure that this has probably been posted 37 times before, but a quick search didn't pop up anything.

Google, Volkswagen Making In-Car Navigation

Looks a little similiar to the GooPs thing.

We're working on it.

Feel free to help out, if you're so inclined.

Only about three.

It's just Google Earth with locally-stored map data, a touchscreen-friendly interface and a VW logo.

A lot of people wonder why Google is trying to roll out free WiMax access. With this in mind, it should be obvious. Think about it...

Google's raison d'etre is targeted advertising in the virtual world. By requiring use of their software they can bring that to the physical world. They would simply re-code Google Earth in such a way that as you are driving down the highway, little virtual billboard bubbles can pop up above stores, restaurants, hotels, etc. For a price, of course.
