iGuidance vs. Copilot

Hardware planning and buying is finished. I'm now focused on the software part.

Looking for GPS. I've found the dongle I plan to use, probably going to be the holux GR-213 with sirfstar. From what I'm reading here this seems to be the best one out there for the money. They're cheap on ebay too.

I'm tossed between copilot and iguidance. My BIGGEST concern is I want touch screen freindliness, decent rerouting, rotating map, and I'm going to be using a 7" lili and want to make sure everything is readable. POI Isnt a big concern, voice control isnt that big of a concern, 3d would be nice but not necessary.

I am all too familiar with how forums work and I've been searching. TRUST ME, for hours I've been searching. I havent seen any type of debate between the two (well at least with the keywords I've been using)

Also all the reviews I'm seeing are old, anything recent, and new releases ? Anything I should know, any advice ? Thanks fellas

I'm using iguidance but am considering switching to copilot 9. I've read good things about it, and the interface looks killer. iNav isn't going to continue producing iGuidance and so it won't be long before the maps it has are outdated.

What do you mean by "...iNav isn't going to continue producing iGuidance...". Do you know something the rest of us don't know? The last time I checked the programmers were busy with a WM5 patch for the European version, update for North American version, etc, etc...

Ah, nevermind then. It was my understanding that iNav was not satisfied with the performance of their iGuidance sales, and so was going to phase it out. Glad to hear iguidance will be around for a while longer.. now if we could just convince iNav to not make it look like crap.

I've never heard anything regarding your concern before. The same software known to us as iGuidance is also licensed so several OEM's ;-)

I may just be going crazy... or I may have dreamed it - that has happened before. :P I remember dreaming that mercedes had made a new car which used heat resistant rubber tires, with massive 4000w heating elements in them to melt ice and snow as it drove. The cincher was that it cost three times as much to drive gas-wise because of all the power required... I thought they really existed for weeks, until i brought it up in a conversation. :P

Perhaps I won't be switching to copilot.. though I do wish iGuidance would allow more customization.. outlined streets would make such a difference.
