I have mine mounted in in the middle of the dashboard.

Update: In really flat areas with few buildings/trees I've seen it reach 10 satelites (briefly).

I too have a BU-353 that I've been really happy with. Almost always has a singal before I've even resumed from hibernation. 10 satallites is pretty normal, I've seen up to 13.

Ummm... NO
The 355 is exactly the same unit as the 353. The 353 has a USB cable and the 355 has a serial cable... so better? NO. The way computers are going, you would be better off with the 353 because USB ports are on 99%+ of all newer computers. Serial ports are dying out (I still use lots of serial stuff) and most new laptops don't even have the ports anymore. You can always use a serial to USB adapter, but those have problems occasionally (compatability issues are most common).

Thumbs up

Yeah I'd have to agree.. My laptop doesn't have a serial port on it. And it's a dying technology. USB would probably be the way to go. But I guess it's a matter of prefference.
