what are the minimum specs for GPS?

I've aquired a cheap, low power SBC (single board computer), with the following specs:

300mhz geode processor
128mb ram
onboard audio/video
serial + usb
512mb CF card booting win98 lite
external USB notebook hard drive for mp3s

Ive installed the chubby version of 98lite, and have no problem playing mp3s, but I'd like to know if I'd be able to get GPS working on it somewhere down the line.

Im worried about the processor being too slow for it, as well as the CF card not having enough space for all the maps and everything.

The gps will work fine. Your problem will be getting the mapping software to run. But seeing as how they run this kind of software on PDAs, I don't think you'll have any problem.

Store the maps on your external hdd.

iGuidance will work fine (your system is indentical to my now deceased system), streets and trips may be a little slow when its rotating the maps (but I only tested that on a 133 mhz lappy w/ 32 mb ram)

Why don't you get windows 2000 on that trick?

I didn't use win2k because I simply didn't have a win2k cd lying around.

I would think about running it under win2k, but I'm not sure how small I can get the install (only have a total of 512mb available), how well it would perform with such a slow setup, and how fast it would boot. I havn't really read up on anybody using win2k for carpcs.
