Software for BU-353

I just ordered my BU-353 from MP3CR.COM. Does it come with some diagnostic software (other than just installation drivers) so that I can verify propper operation (i.e. number of satellites detected, etc)? I have not decided on which navigation software to use yet but I wanted to verify proper operation of the GPS receiver before I install it in the car.

It comes with a program called GPS info. I have the BR-355. If your model doesn't have the GPS info application with it, they do offer it as a download on their web site. It should ocme with yours though as I believe the same install CD is used for all of their GPS'.

I can't speak highly enough about the BR-355. I have never had a GPS that synched up so quickly and was so reliable. In fact, with my truck sitting inside my garage the GPS still picks up satellites and functions. I've had a good number of GPS' and the BR-355 puts the others to shame.

Ditto, it does come with a GPS info utility. Mine is also a BU-353. It works great.

I replaced my Rikaline 6010 with a BU-353. You will not be disappointed. The Rikaline used to be outside the vehicle, but the BU-353 is inside behind tinted glass and still gets a better lock.

If you really want to see what "makes it tick" you can download SiRFDemo. It allows you to chack out all sorts of stuff with the unit.
