Im going to france for GTi international so i need the french maps aswell??

What are peoples general thoughts on it??

have you tried starting the device emulator as a low priority task?

that's how I'm running it.

did u manage to connect up the GPS by the serial through function? I've got a BT GPS mouse that is connected to the carputer's COM3, and have mapped COM3 to the device emulator's COM1. Then told TomTom to use COM1 as the GPS but nothing happens. Did you get that far?

otherwise have a look here for reviews. I was considering copilot since I heard it has a traffic function, but I've not found much info on that.

either way looking at the autoroute web page it looks pretty good, just wondering what other peoples opinions on it are?

I've sussed out tomtom going on and off, I've even fully automated it so that one click switches on the emulator then tomtom, and another click turns it off fully (and forces it to shut down after 10 seconds if it gets stuck)

I can show you all that if you like. Are you using a wired GPS or bluetooth? Did you manage to get tomtom actually navigating with a live gps connection or just in demo mode?

The traffic function in tomotm connects up to tomtom's website and downloads traffic info. If there is traffic on the way, it reroutes. You need to sign up to that service on tomtom's site. 40 quid a year or something, and you get a month free to try it first.

If I can't get tomtom working, I will probably look at copilot ;cos of the traffic function. I don't know anything about autoroute so I'll have to inverstiage that too.

Route 66

Just wondered if anyone has tried using Route 66 for the UK?? Software is pretty easy to find and it says it's GPS compatible.
Also, concerning Route 66 or any other software - I have a BT GPS unit which i use for TomTom on my smartphone. Would i still be able to use this via a BT USB Dongle??

I originally had Route 66.

nice software, but it has no 3D mode (when I last looked) and isn't very touchscreen friendly.

It does have Traffic updates if you have an internet connection.

I can see what your saying about not being touchscreen friendly, the controls are too small aren't they. What gps device did you use?
