Help: System Hibernation Failed because of COM1 (GPS)?

Every time I try to go to hibernation I get this error. My GlobalSat BR-355 is on COM1. Anyone know a fix?

use hybernate trigger and write a script to dissable com 1 via microsofts devcon, on the way back up use another script to enable it again. Has worked for me for months now although I have done it via an autoit exe instead of a bat file but it will work either way.

So you had this same Problem? Why does it happen?
BTW, I switched to the other COM port and it hasn't done it since.

Well I am assuming your GPS is USB and win XP is well known for having problems with USB devices in hybernation. One machine I have has no problems and another has but it is exactly the same GPS reciver as in the same one not just same model. Anyway the script sorts it out and is completely transparent.

It's serial, not USB.

I should have actually realised it was serial being on com 1. I think my solution will still work for you although it isnt the usual problem. I assume you do actually have the latest drivers? You arent sharing it through a com splitter or anything are you?

I didn't install any driver's cause it's serial. It's been working fine on COM2 though.
