Mappoint 2006 vs S&T 2006?

Hi all.
I've read multiple threads on mappoint being better than streets 2006 but I just can't seem to see what is better about mappoint (2006 is what I would be looking at when it comes out). I use S&T 2006 but have no experience with mappoint (or autoroute for that matter).

Could someone "more in the know" lay it out for me (in laymans terms) as to why they find mappoint better? Features? Functionality? Integration with front ends, etc.
Also, is one better than the other for in car touchscreen use?

Thanks

BJ

ps. I've tried iGuidance, but find it too limited for my purposes, outside of a better interface for in car use and touch screen friendliness (igmod, etc).

Mappoint is more designed for the mobile businessman or someone interested in building automation or other tools INTO their mapping software. Mappoint supports limited scripting in VB & C+ for various functions, etc. It isn't designed to be more user-friendly than S&T, rather more business-type functionality built in.

Without seeing MP2006 in person yet, it's hard to say for sure. Based on what I've read and using MP2004, S&T2005 and 2006, there won't be a huge difference between the commercial products (MP and S&T). The main difference will be in the development area since S&T2006 is based on the MP2006 SDK. Now folks who are programming MP applications will get some of the new features that S&T2006 has...I can't wait! Unless you're developing, go with S&T since it's 1/10th the cost.
