Thanks for answer.

A know that i can install small part of program, but i have not CD or DVD in my car.
I have 15GB HDD, a I want to place more music instead of big map data files.

So, because program use text-to-speech, i can not edit language. Is that right?

The speech is worse than nRoute for compare. In nRoute speech is more clear.

One more question - how can I turn AUTO RECALCULATE the route if I go OFF Route? Is that feature buld in this version of program?

peterhr, I'm not very fond of the Microsoft text-to-speach engine used. However, if you don't mind paying more money for it, you may use third party text-to-speech engines that sound considerably better.

The current version, MS Streets & Trips 2007 / MS AutoRoute 2007, doesn't have automatic re-route feature built-in.

nadforever, I'm afraid it is not possible to start the program and go directly to full-screen mode. At least I haven't found a way to achieve that. The full-screen mode is available only when a route has been plotted and 'driving guidance' enabled. I haven't found a solution aroundthis, yet. I'll keep trying, though.

OK, thanks for answer.

How can I implement new text-to-speech program?
Where can I find text files?

About a FullScreenMode -
I found script in this forum. But it don't work for AutoRoute.
I read more about AutoIT and write another script for me.

But it's no so good, because i use mouse movement and mouse click.
It's activate when AutoRoute appear on the top of the screen.
I simulate mouse movement and clicking and choose to start GPS.
If I previously save route from place A to place B then the FULL Screen Mode AUTOMATICALLY started.

But I think that this is not so good for my LCD. My screen is 640x480 and the map is on half screen. I prefer to see more of map, and guidance to be in small part of screen. May be in next version this would be adjustable.

PS: In fullscreen mode another uncomfortable thing is that this mode is only to see. I can't change route, point and nothing else.

1. To change the voice you could Google search for "text to speech". You will find sites that offer (sell) text to speech engines. They will let you listen before you buy. Some of them sound very impressive, but they are not free.

2. Yes, Streets & Trips 2007 / AutoRoute 2007 are not suitable for 640x480 resolution. The 'Driving Guidance' pane (pain?) is just way too big, covering area which would be better used for displaying map instead. Even at 800x600 I don't like it. At 1024x768 it is tolerable. I personally don't like the Driving Guidance' pane at all (I don't know anyone who does). I would eliminate it completely if it were up to me. The same info could be overlaid on the map in an unobtrusive way (see other navigation solutions for examples).

3. I agree. The full-screen mode should allow users to do a few such basic tasks as enter destination, etc, without exiting the full-screen mode. In the meantime, as a workaround, you could create a script which will exit full screen mode and bring you (for example) to the 'Route Planner' pane.

A different text-to-speech engine will give you a different sounding voice. But if you are after a different language, then that is not possible - a different text-to-speech engine will not translate the text.

Help us out

For those of us who would prefer not to mess around with the scripting program, can't someone just post a compiled exe for download and use in our setups?

I compiled it and will try it tomorrow if it works i can put it for download. Now what folder do u put it in or it doesnt matter. I will put it on the desktop when i try it also is there a way or some kind a of a file that when the PC is turned on the "autogps.exe" is executed instead of clickin on it each time.

Just drag it into your Startup folder. Start --> All Programs --> Startup

Everything in there (shortcuts and exe's) are executed when windows starts. If you want it to start first first, then you must edit the registry, but for this you should have no need for that.
