What software has Multiple Stops Logistics Routing?

You know, the fastest order to do things in.

I use CarPC's in my trucks primarily for navigation, I cover three states and average 1000mi a week. I make 3-10 stops a day. I don't make any money while driving so it is important to me to spend the least amount of time driving.

I currently Use Copilot 9 for that reason. I can enter multiple stops, move my final destination to the bottom of the list, and select "optimize." It plots the fastest route from my current location, through all stops to my final destination. I like that I don't have to "plan" a trip, choose my start point, save the trip file, use it as my route.

Only the map data is sometimes inaccurate, might be a problem in all software, also I have been interested in trying some more frontend integrated nav software. So I am curious to know what other software would work for me.

I am pimarily interested in Iguidance and Streetdeck
The only other software I have used is Streetatlas+ 2003

I use Microsoft Streets & Trips 2006 and it works pretty good for me. It seems to be doing what you need it to do as well. Put in all your stops, final destination and click on the plan my route button and it gives you 3 choices of traveling. I think they are like shortest, fastest, no highways? or something similar. If you put in how many miles per gallons your car gets, it'll even recommend when to pull over to pump gas as well!

Just an FYI - iguidance won't do that. Currently use it in my car and I think that it'll only let you do one "stopover" in your route.

You could also look into the newest Delorme Street Atlas (2006 I think), I've got it installed on another computer so I'll have to take a look and see if it can do that.

One problem you may run into is that some nav programs that are designed to be easy to use in a car/integrated environment don't have all the fancy features that some of the other nav programs do that are a little more "involved" to use in a car environment.

CoPilot is/was one of the most sophisticated Nav programs around.
How do you do a 'stopover' in iGuidance? I haven't figured that one out yet...

Once you have a route enter.

Menu->Destination->Stopover.

OP: MS S&T2006 does allow multiple stopovers. It's a very good trip planner software, but not a good nav software.

Thanks all. I will just stick with copilot, it seems to do what I want best. I just wish I could synch the custom POI between my trucks. Copilot 9 now allows importing ov2 files, but has no way of exporting. Maybe next version.

Bridqer, it sounds like you've used CoPilot for a while...and I noticed that you've used Version 8 as well.

Did you notice any significant improvement in the quality of the map data between versions 8 and 9? What about POIs? I have version 8, and am frustrated by the lack of/missing POI information and sometime inaccurate map data.

Thanks,

Gregory
