navitraffic used with a carputer

i did search for this answer but i haven't found anything..so lets begin

XM radio has navitraffic which tells you where construction is and reroutes you around it. only certian models of navigation systems (apline, pioneer) are navitraffic enabled..so my question is, is there a way to use an inhouse gps with the carputer and get the navitraffic to work? or recreate the acura CL navi system which has navitraffic?

There's no solution that I'm aware of.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

Wow, I wasn't aware there was a system like that out. Sucks that it can be used with regular GPS. I'm sure it's going to get worked out eventually.

I beleive one of the frontends (Centerrfuse I beleive) is planning on releasing a commercial version of its product that will include and option for XM traffic. As the others have indicated, a search for "XM traffic GPS" should yeild something.

XM traffic data requires special traffic specific hardware to use it. You can't recieve the traffic feed with an XM direct or any other off the shelf hardware.

You can if you get the Pioneer GEX-P10XMT. The problem is there's no software to read the feed, and I don't think there's an interface to translate it to a PC.

The data connector on that pioneer looks like something new to Pioneers, so it's possible that someone would work out a deal to be able to use it, or perhaps XM will come out with some different hardware.

Right now, there's no way to get NavTraffic running on a PC. No software and no hardware that's been made to work with it.
