Rent GPS device?

Anyone know where I can rent a GPS device for a couple of weeks? I am talking GPS for the car.

I saw one place that was $90/week... and like $350/month. I am looking for something cheaper.

Costco has a great return policy too. Watch for restocking fees on retail returns, they can add up. I think CompUSA has a 21 day return policy now, with no restocking fees on items like GPS...

$350/month? Might as well just buy one.

CompUSA is the best way to go. Around here walmarts ask for a valid reason on electronics. If it still works its yours. SO you have to break it first. Kind of a waste. CompUSA is 21 days no questions asked full money back. RadioShack is too, but rarely do they carry GPS stuff.

Don't do the buy with the intent open it, use it, and return it. You can check a car rental place and see if any loan out their GPS units.

ppgt94 - why not buy, use, return? Is your opinion based on the fact that they may not allow a return, or an ethical issue? Not trying to start ****, just curious...

I bought a TomTom 300 for my last trip out to LA, Used it for the week and returned it. Though I had a valid reason, the thing simply sucked.

If you're renting a car, Avis and Hertz have their stuff.

Ethical reasons aside, but has anyone experienced an issue returning a unit just because CD or DVD was included?

buurin, car rental agencies rent GPS units for around $10 - $12 per day (perhaps this is even more lucrative business for them than actually renting cars :-) I'd say you may as well buy one. Or see if you can borrow one from a friend.
