Have you ever used Google?
It's an awesome search engine. You really should try it to look up answers to your questions before you ask them publicly, where you will be derided for not even attempting to come up with an answer yourself.
You want to be spoon-fed, and spoon-feeding is bad. It will stunt your growth.
And there is no 'Microsoft GPS chip'. Last I checked, Mircrosoft isn't even in the semiconductor business. The GPS unit that comes with S&T is a rebranded Holux unit, if I remember correctly.
And the worth of an upgrade can only be determined to you, since your'e the one that's going to be using the software.
