Yes, we've send out email to iNav for them to develop a SDK for iGuidance, but we were given the answer that they are not considering develop an SDK at the moment.

Maybe Navigon wouldn't be so hard headed and they might develop a PC version of there software with an SDK. I can only dream.

Hi there folks, maybe your dreams have/will come true:

This German Navigon company has a PC version for some years now, it's called the NCK version. Take a look here!

One problem: as you can see, this is a European edition. But for PDA they have US and Canada coverage. So you could get in contact with Navigon to check out if the US PDA maps can be used for this NCK notebook/PC version.

By the way, this summer an awsome new version of Navigon will be released:
Navigon 6. That's magic!

Greetz,
Harro from Holland

You can also use in with your cell phone

As Harro mentioned, there is a PC version... looks like SDK only... but isn't that what everyone wants? Navigon Configuration Kit (NCK)... http://www.navigon.com/site/us/en/co...s/products/nck and Navigon Integration Kit (NIK)... http://www.navigon.com/site/us/en/co...s/products/nik

The NIK is available in versions for Notebook, Pocket PC as well as other Windows platforms, such as Skye.Pad, Waveon etc.

since this is a pocketpc app, there's no reason why it can't be setup in exactly the same way as tomtom was set up. just follow the instructions in my sig, and replace TomTom with Navigon!

SDK'd version would be great though. I'm goign to d/l this software and test it out on my PDA.

On-Course Navigator 5 is a very nice looking application (the roads don't look jagged) and I seriously considered purchasing it, however, it has a major flaw (or at least it did when I was shopping around). It does not show street names in 3D view (not sure if they have since added this feature). Since I use 3D view quite a bit, this was a major deal breaker for me.

I have used TomTom in the past, however I didn't much care for its color schemes. Plus the fact it is a PDA only application (at present) is a deal breaker for my upcoming move from a PDA based system to a UMPC system.

I went with iGuidance because of all the customization (color schemes, wider streets, etc.) that can be done to it. With version 3, they have improved the graphics to the point of being equal to what is viewed with On-Course. In my opinion, iGuidance has the right blend of form, function, and appearance when compared to everything else out there.
