iG 2.x was known to keep suggesting (unreasonable) u-turns to bring you back to originally calculated route. This was due to iG not recalculating the whole length of route, but rather just a small portion of it (to save system resources and to perform the calculation faster). A simple registry change allowed users to "force" recalculation of the full length of route.
iG 3.0 does much better job of recalculating a route (upon missing a turn, etc) to a point that perhaps the registry change may not even be necessary. And before you ask me if the recalc registry tweak works in iG 3.0 I have to admit I'm not sure. I think it may, but I'm still using 2.1.3 (hoping for a patch for 3.0 ...)

cool, thanks for the info Marvin.
In other news:
I have successfully navigated the Menu by sending commands directly to the IG button control ID's, so what this means is one click access to say the "Favorite Destinations" window is again possible
broken in IG3 since they disabled keyboard shortcuts (arrow keys) in the onscreen menus.
Once i finish building out all the code for the scripts to navigate the entire onscreen menus it'll be available in my next skin update.
This is done with autoit3 scripts, so any scripters that want the sourcecode in the mean time just let me know.

Wow, liquid_smoke, you managed to do it? Really? How? Tell us more, please. I may be upgrading to iG 3.0 after all!

i just pimp slapped IG3 an said ***** where is my money ?, and she gave it up
keep yo pimp hand strong!
seriously though, lol.
im using autoIT3 a windows scripting engine used heavily in a few RR skins including mine to automate a lot of things. In a nut shell im basicly tricking IG3 into thinking that i physically clicked the menu buttons but my mouse never moves.
Here is a test,
if you have IG3 (may possibly work with IG2 but not really any point in that)
let me know if this works for you.

the file is a .exe inside the rar

If this file slaps your girlfriend, dont blame me.

Okay, so instead of sending keystrokes you are sending mouse clicks. Yes, that would work, but I find sending mouse clicks less reliable than sending keystrokes :-( It's doable, but not as neat as before :-(

they way i have it, its pretty reliable so far. Im not using the mousemove, mouse click commands. Your mouse never moves. Im directly accessing the control ID of the buttons and activateing them. Each button has a unique control ID number associated with it on a given dialog. This method is actually a bit better to me than the previous ways where you would send keys like this ENTER,LEFT,LEFT,DOWN,DOWN,ENTER, to get to somewhere. This method not allways reliable either.
But so far this is the only way unless they add back in keyboard support.
function wise, in use it feels exactly the same way as sending keys.

Hey Liquid Smoke, are you going to share your resource hacked .exe to go with your LSX void skin? I just burned IG 3.0 and got it up and running. Time to start playing.

Sorry, I misunderstood you earlier because I only read your reply without actually looking at the attached file.
Wow, if that is indeed possible I'll be VERY happy camper indeed. I'll play with it tomorrow. I personally don't use AutoIt. I have always used AutoHotkey, which is very similar application like AutoIt. AutoIt seems to be able to do more, though. I may switch.
Thanks much.

It works perfectly in both laptop and UMPC versions.

cool, thanks for testing that out for me. I finished mapping out all the major screens in the menu and submenus. I have about 12 different commands so far.
Set Destination
Settings
Itinerary
Display Options
Route Options
Clear Route
Shortcuts
Favorites
POI
POI's off
GO HOME
and basicly anything else can be added, any button you see in the menus. I skipped over certain things that are basicly set it and forget it, like the volume screen, system information (aboutbox).
If anyone has any other ideas for one click access to a menu item let me know and ill add it to the list.
Im trying to include more than is really needed or could even fit onscreen, just giving people options to pick and choose whats important to them.
These will be released as .au3 and .exe files to do with as you please, skinners will know what to do with them.
My next update to lsxvoid will have these allready intergrated.
oh, one thing i just found out thats cool about this since im not using sendkeys i dont have to have IG visible.
you dont have to be on the gps screen ( in road runner) to use these commands.
So say if you are in the audio screen, you can cancel a route or start a new one and never leave the audio screen

Can't wait for the new skin to be available! I am trying to DL version 3 right now, but it keeps dying out. I will prolly just order it and call it good. I don't see any major problems so far.
