Wow - thanks for the info Marvin. Good to see that 100+ post thread where we all emailed iNav about hooking us up actually worked. Good stuff. Might not be an SDk, but it's definately a change for the better...

Wow! I'm glad roads have borders now! Looks nice, I like it. Wonder how much the upgrade will cost. I hope theme.ini stays in there.

OMG, that is awesome!!! Definitely looks much better than the Destinator crap. Hopefully they've improved the routing algo, too. Marvin, any shot for the new OSK?

THEME.INI - good question...
...5 minutes later, here is the answer:
Judging by what I see when I open iGuidance.exe in a hex editor it does appear THEME.INI has been enabled. I would recommend everyone to remove or temporarily rename their own THEME.INI file so we can see iGuidance 3 the way it has been designed. Let's play with it for a bit to get a better feel of what we like/dislike, and then each can decide what changes we need (if any).
Btw, as soon as I can I will look at the routing algorithm ;-)
b8bboi, sorry, I'm still unable to start v.3 and take screenshots (explained on previous page). I'll do it as soon as I can.

I don't think so, not so quick. This is after we *****ed to them for a million years and we're still not sure how much of an improvement this is yet. Once Marvin gets to test this out and post his comments on it then I'll be more willing to hand them a
but I am very pleased to see that they are listening to us. Lets just hope they were also listening when we metioned the SDK part.

I just received the correct map version for my province so I can finally start playing with it. I set my desktop pc down to 800 x 600 pixels to take the above screenshot.
It's breakfast time now, but I will do more testing later...
P.S. Notice iGuidance now performs search no longer in "starts with" manner, but rather in "contains" manner. I think users may find this useful if for example we don't know the correct spelling of the beginning of the street name, etc.

I've never used Iguidance.. does it use smooth routing as per TomTom? Instead of the map jumping each time GPS data is recieved?
Does that make any sense?? lol

It would be nice if software developers provided OSK layouts in QWERTY format so that those of us (basically 90% of the computer using population - DVORAK people need not comment here) could easily use them. In this case, iNav decided to put an A-Z keyboard as the OSK, imagine how much longer it will take you to get used to this keyboard. Yes, I do tend to type addresses out while driving (I do slow down to do this, mind you), it is easy when it is a QWERTY layout, and I can for the most part type things out rather easily.
I do thank iNav for giving us a larger GUI, but that OSK just irks me.

Marvin, thanks for the OSK screenshot.
Frankly, it disappoints me a little. First, as replicant said, why not QWERTY? Second, why couldn't they squeeze the numeric keys in? Third, why couldn't they squeeze in more than 1 line for the street prediction window? Why not use a little more screen estate? I was able to do all that in iGMon and my buttons are still plenty big.

Hopefully, it's skinnable or at least configurable.
